Tammy - Bass Guitar & Vocals

My name is Tammy Steeper. I have been playing the bass guitar for about 7 years now. I come from a musical background- my parents Ed and Donna Lesperance (love you guys!) had a band "The Lesperance Trio" for about 16 years. When I was young, they used to drag me up to sing with them. I guess that's when the bug hit me! The guitar player is my husband Dave. So, I guess he and I are following in my parents footsteps! I absolutely love playing in this band...we all have so much fun, and it is something my husband and I do together. When I met him, he was in a rock band...and was playing the drums! I pulled him out from behind those drums, and my dad taught him to play the guitar! The rest is Country history... When you come to see us, make sure to come up and say hello!! We love meeting new people! Also, make sure to sign our guestbook before you leave the site! Hope to see you soon!

Dave - Rythm Guitar & Vocals
Born and raised in a small town, my roots around these parts run deep. My grandfather's band travelled these county roads, and like him and his group, so do we. My mom and dad started it all with that record player and "Ring of Fire", they must still remember the words. I started playing drums at around age 7, and my father quickly countered with guitar lessons...to no avail. Together with some friends we started "Vicious Circle", a popular area rock band. After 10 years of limited sucess, we disbanded. When I met my wife, she and her father unearthed the country soul covered for so many years. My father-in-law took on the task of teaching a drummer how to play guitar! (Thanks Pop!) I just love doing this, and it shows. See you soon!
Paul - Percussion

I was not born into a musical family, so don't ask me why I wanted to play guitar at the age of nine. My parents bought me a guitar and I proceeded to fail miserably in teaching myself how to play. A year later, I got a snare drum for Christmas and I was hooked immediately. Aquiring a full drum kit soon after, I found myself torturing the ears of my parents and brother on a daily basis. In thanks to them putting up with the racket, I was able to prepare myself for alot of interesting musical experiences to come. I have since been in numerous bands in the Windsor and Ottawa areas, playing classic or heavy rock for the most part. I have also enjoyed the various recording projects, festivals, and special events that I have been asked to participate in. These opportunities allowed me to stretch into, blues, country, and even Broadway show tunes. Now I find myself playing country for the most part, and it feels natural. I look forward to every opportunity where I get to play good music, with good people.

Derek - Lead Singer & Harmonica

Hi, I am Derek Hardy. I was born and reaised on a farm North of Lucan. Growing up like most country kids ... wild and free. Music has been in my family for generations. My grandmother was a music teacher, she always heard me walking around humming a tune. One day she asked me if I would like to be a singer, did I ever!! From Classical church solos to Hank Williams Sr's " Hey Good Lookin" I felt at ease singing them all. My first serious band endever was with the rock band Vicious Circle. We had loads of fun playing all over Ontario. After a decade of belting out rock songs...it was time for a change. I wanted to become a singer that could conquer any style. So three years of vocal lessons at the Victorian Music Acadamy, and I was ready. I trained to be a smooth country sound, and a solid harmony singer. Come catch the show, I'm sure you will leave smiling and singing along to one of your country favorites!!

Jim - Lead Guitar & Vocals

Born into a musical family, I fell into music naturally. My grandfather (LloydOtterbein) and my parents (Wayne and Judy Otterbein) have been in the music business
most of their lives.

At the age of 5 I began playing drums, and by the age of 11 I was the drummer in my parent's country band. At the age of 14 I picked up my dad's guitar and a music book, and started teaching myself the chords. A few years later the bass guitar fell into place. In my early 20's I purchased an electric guitar and started learning country lead guitar.

I have worked with many local bands as a lead guitar player, a bass player, and a drummer. I am also a member of the CKNX Barndance Band and have performed all over Southwestern Ontario. Through the Barndance I have been able to backup such acts as Larry Mercy, Paul Weber, Marie Bottrell, and Hee Haw's very own Gordie Tapp.

Music is a big part of my life and I enjoy playing guitar and performing in a band. Be sure to come up and say "HI" the next time you get to see the River Junction Band perform.
